I've been designed static websites with Dreamweaver for years. After a 7 yr hiatus, I am back designing sites for $$$. I never learned any programming in the past. I can read html, but 99% of the time I am writing WYSWYG.
I've decided that in order for me to be competitive in the market and truly offer a product to my clients of value, I need to offer dynamic websites. The problem is- I don't understand the basics of database driven sites. I've researched online and even bought Sitepoint's "Build Your Own ASP.NET 3.5 Web Site" but even Chapter 1 is over my head.
I don't know where to start in regards of building a foundation. I don't want to be an expert, but I'd like to be able to understand the basics and be able to work with code and tweek it. I'd also like to be able to have a conversation with a programmer when I need to sub work out.
