I implemented membership services for my ASP.NET 3.5 website some time ago. I chose to install all the related tables, etc, in my SQL Server database (hosted by an ISP) rather than in a dedicated database because more databases equals higher charges from my ISP. All the basic membership stuff works fine but I now want to exploit roles.
I appear to have most, but not all, of the stored procedures relating to roles already installed in my database. Because some SPs are missing I am now trying to run Aspnet_regsql.exe to ensure that all such gaps are plugged. However, it fails with the following error message. I know absolutely nothing about collation and need some basic step by step guidance to get out of this hole.
All that I have established so far is that the current collation of my database is Latin1_General_CI_AI.
