Im using asp.net in vb and have spent days trying to create a shopping basket for my site so customers can save items they want to purchase and have them be available during the checkout stage. I have discovered it is a lot more complicated then I originally imagined.
I tried using an arraylist combined with a custom object inside a property accessor with two properties ( _ProductIDs and _Quantity_selected).
When selecting an item on a gridview the Product ID for each product would be obtained from my database which stores data on all the products but no data on the customers or customer transactions. I was informed that the instance of my custom object in the property accessor was a reference type which was causing the arraylist to only store the last item. Whether or not I use a session object I can only recover the last item selected even when posted back to the same page.
Is there any way around this?
