I am creating a solution package for my sharepoint development which
contains webparts, features and site definitions. After making the .wsp
file, i am going to invoke through my custom installer. I have 100
custom pages also, which will go under Layouts folder. My custom
installer will bundle the custom pages and cab file. It will deploy
the custom pages on Layouts folder and extract the cab and will add the
site definition, webparts and features by using stsadm tool. My problem
is how to deploy solution in web farm scenario. Let assume i have 4
servers (WFE and application server both) on web farm which has one
backend sqlserver.
My questions are
1) If i have to install on each machine, then it will try to put the
same defintion from four servers to sqlserver. will it cause a
duplicate problem or simply sharepoint will ignore the duplicate?
2) If i have install on one machine, then custom pages will not go under layouts of all the servers in webfarm. ...
