Web site does not work on internet though it is working fine in intranet

I have a virtual directory listed under my default website which I wanted to test on internet but when I do that it says resource not found for that particular virtulal directory. This how I am accessing virtual directory on internet http://xyz.com/virtualdirectory.
Though it is running when I access using http://localhost/virtulDirctory. Other virtual directory under my website runs absolutely fine. I have published it on IIS 6.
The virtual directory Which does not work has selfssl set up. So when I type http:// path it redirects to https:// but I get http 404 error resource not found.
Any suggestion. Thanks in advance
