Generics

Hi,
I just finished reading up on Generics, just wondering how often do people use them and in what situations?  I liked what I read about them but couldn't think of a situation where I would use them. Just wanted to see if anyone does use them and how, for what? To replace a section where you might have used an ArrayList or something else?

thanks.
