Hello, I have an orders List collection

List <OnlineOrders>  orders = new List<OnlineOrders>();
I am adding Order objects to this collection.
Once all the order objects have been added to this list collection I need to :

a) Sort this List collection on the basic of orderPlacedDate
b) Filter the records (or store them in seperate collection)  on the basis of ordertype (weborder, storeorder) etc

Could someone please let me know what is the easiest way to achieve this.
Is Linq the right way or could I use List.Sort() or List.OrderBy() and List.FindALL()
and what all parameters I need to passs .
and how to use Linq here
