how to render aspx page all at once

I am pretty new to aspx.net and just getting back into programming etc...

I have created a website that has various objects, pictures etc and when it loads it all loads in pieces etc (starting at the top working down).  I really want to keep the page either blank or show background only until all images etc are loaded and then display all at once.

I have looked around and found some small samples of code etc, but either can't figure out what/where it goes or its not doing what i want.

 

Any help would be much appreciated, and if not too much trouble an example would be really appreciated.

 FYI... i have tried setting buffer=true, and using an onload event, but nothing is doing what i thought it would do.
