Roles and Permission

Does anyone know how to extend the membership and Roles so permissions can be added to the Roles.

For example. I create a Role call Customer Service Who can View/Edit customer but cannot delete.

I do understand that I can create many roles and accomplish the same thing. But in large organizations it is a headache to add many roles to a user just to manage CRUD operations. I have done permissions based security in 1.1 before and wondering if there are any examples which use the 2.0 security features and just extends permissions.
