Hello,
I have been developing web apps for nearly 8 years now with the last 5 being the most advanced experience. I have really been wanting to transition to .Net and get away from Coldfusion but it pays the bills so I have been sticking with it year after year.
I currently have some ongoing projects that I am getting ready to start working on and have been given the opportunity to choose which ever technology I want. If I use Coldfusion I know I can deliver a top notch app in a fair amount of time and the client will be happy, But I do not want to miss an opportunity to get some ASP.Net experience under my belt. If I choose ASP.Net then I risk a bloated delivery date due to my lack of experience with it.
The client is not setting any hard delivery dates but I still want to keep him happy as there is great income potential with them in the future.
So should I take the leap of faith and use ASP.Net or stay in my comfort zone and stick with Coldfus ...
