Hello there I wonder if somebody could help, I'll try an keep it as simple as possible.
Ok, while i do plan to learn asp.net properly, I have a small project that needs doing quickly, so I'm just trying to get through this with the basics before I learn properly.
Without going in to too much detail, my first task to to create a login page, where I basically want to pass in a username and password and return the matching ID (or a notice to say the username/password arent correct). I can then use the ID to pull back matching info etc etc.
I already have a MSSQL table with logins, I've set up IIS, I'm using SQL Server 2005 express for now and I've got that all working.
I'm using dreamweaver for this, and have good HTML knowledge and have written a few applications in VB previously, so thought I'd go for an aspx page and add in the necessary coding.
