I have an internal site to which I have added forms authentication. The site has various data presentation controls (gridviews, datalists, drop downs, etc.). I also have a few popup modals for user entry forms (javascript) along with directory browsing to access certain files (.xls, .doc, .rtf, etc).
The site worked extremely well pre-forms, but since I have added the authentication, I have been running into issues.
HERE is the problem:
Once I set the Forms authentication at the top level, it is inherited to lower levels (this make sense, and is exactly what I want). I am using the built in ASPNETDB.MDF for my provider.
HOWEVER, certain elements (such as images, and the files residing in the contracts file, OR the files in the modal folder) must also have anonymous authentication enabled (in addition to the forms), or else I cannot access them / they do not work.
