Newbie:MySQL authorization provider with MS Access personalization and role provider

Hi,
  I'm using  windows authentication, authorization and MS Access personlization provider and it works just fine. I also use AspNetWindowsTokenRoleProvider for restricting access based on windows groups.  For user authentication is it possible to authenticate users by querying a MySQL database instead where list of valid users are stored ? Do I need to use a MySQL based authentication provider ? Is there such a sample for reference ?
Could I still continue to use my MS Access based personalization provider while authenticating users by querying MySQL using Forms authentication ? Could I group users into application specific roles(in my MS Acess provider) and still use roles for web part authorization ?
