Pet Shop 4.0 runtime error

I installed Pet Shop 4.0 on a Win 2008 R2 VM with SQL 2008 R2. When I run the app from the default.aspx page, I get the error:
"Login failed for user 'mspetshop'.
It's failing on line 218 on a conn.Open(); statement.
I found references to 'mspetshop' as a user in the app.config file. I changed the 3 references to a user id that's in the Membership DB. There are no other references in the source to 'mspetshop' so I don't know why it's still failing. Anyone know how to fix?
