I need a very simple menu. Don't care if it drops down from a click or just a hover. I just need to put a few menu options on it that each navigate to different pages. I'll need to control visibility or enabled property of individual items based on user permissions. I was just looking at the asp.net menu control and that doesn't look like it does what I need? can that be? I need the menu to 'drop down' on click or hover, without post back. I can take care of enabling/disabling particular menu items on page load once, then the menu should operate client side until one of the menu items is actuall clicked.
am I missing something here? There is no builtin control for this? Using VS 2008.
