How to validate the duplication of USERNAME in registration from without refreshing the page?

I am beginner to asp.net and now i am working on a project ,that has registration form .
My requirment is to validate the duplication of USERNAME when the user finish typing the username (like gmail mail registration form)
,not after pagerefresh or submit button
