On my login page I have a label that says "User ID:" followed by a text box and then a login button. In the method for the login button click I have "Session["UserID"] = TextBox1.Text;" I also have the button link the user to the main page.
Based on their User ID, I will be changing the visibility of certain elements on the main page. The trouble is, I'm having trouble getting the data get sent to the main page. Before I mess with the visibility and all that, I simply tried to test it by making another label and button on the main page. In the button click method I have "Label1.Text = Session["UserID"].ToString();" The text doesn't change, or I think it might disappear - sorry I'm not at the office.
I've also tried to set the Session data to a string first like string UserID = Session["UserID"].ToString(); and then Label1.Text = UserID;
Am I missing something here? There has to be more to it I'm guessing.
