hello.

i've been having a lot of problems with forms authentication.

i can log in and create users, but as soon as i click to go to a secure folder it wants me to log in again and directs me to a default login.aspx that it can't find in the sub directory!

as soon as i try to edit the web.config file with location, forms, or authorization ... the entire site stops working and i get a 500 error.

why can't i add code to the web.config file?  this seems like entirely too much work just to allow users into a protected folder.

i've been working on this for like 7 days straight and i'm thinking of throwing asp.net out the window!

i've read all the forums and codes people say to use, but nothing works for me!

is it because it's a virtual folder?  why doesn't the application hold on to the cookie when it goes to the folder?

is there a difference between a folder and a sub-domain? ...

Go to the complete details ...
