I have no idea where to begin looking!!!
My idea is to create thumbnails of a State (US) and simply mark a location within the state with an Icon. Nothing fancy - the state is simply a solid color. Something resembling this page http://www.gamebirdhunts.com/us-hunting/South-Dakota-NE1.asp
I know I can open Photoshop and do it ---- but for 100's to 1000's of locations - what a pain!
I've seen on codeplex - projects like SharpMap and such - but don't see if they can work. I would like to do this programmatically and access it through a web application - so as more locations are added, the thumbnails can be created.
I should note that I want to create and save the thumbnails because like the layout of the above page - there could be 20 - 50 - 100 of these thumbnails on a page - so I don't want to hit google maps or yahoo, etc 50 times per page. I also feel that layout seems simpler for an end user than plotting a ...
