VB Inline IF not working the same as a regular IF

I am trying to use an inline if statement
Dim _Country As Nullable(Of Integer) = If(ddlForSaleCountry.Text <> "", ddlForSaleCountry.SelectedItem.Value, Nothing)
But unfortunately it is not working... ...
