Hello,

I am building a asp.net web app using VS2008, ASP.net 2.0 and C#. The VS solution consists of a number of class libraries and a web application (default.aspx). The business logic is all included in the class library. There are about 8 functionality provided, one of these is to provide a query facility to allow users to search the database.

There will be a logon page. There are 5 types of users based on their organisation.

There is a requirement to restrict the functionality depending on the user who has logged on e.g. provide all the functionality to administrators, but a second user might have only 6 of the functionality, while another user might have all  the functionality but can only query a certain set of database tables.

Has anyone done something similar? What is the best way to achieve this? e.g. Control what functionality is available when users logged on using an xml config file, or modify default.aspx ...

Go to the complete details ...
