Clear page contents

Hi all
What is the easliest way to clear a page content? how do you guys usually do to clear page content? I want to use a "clear" button and clear all the page content. Javascript sounds like a good choice as it is client side but I am a javascript dummy. I need Views Status so disable them is not an option. writing text.clear() code for each items are not prefer as well.
