Selecting textbox text

I have a textbox located in the edititemtemplate of a formview.
<asp:TextBox ID="JanuaryTextBox" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("January") %>' Class="canedit" TextMode="MultiLine" /> (The class only sets the height and width) When it runs, I cannot select the text with the mouse but I can select it with the shift-arrow key combination. Why is this and how can I make it selectable with the mouse?
