First of all, sorry for the long subject, but I have searched the web and everything I have found related to this had to do with GridViews or CustomControls, and I wanted to state that this is NOT the case.
So basically, what I have a typical search web with comboboxes, textboxes and all. It is a web that uses a MasterPage (which has a form with runat="server") and in the web I have a couple of hierarchic Dropdownlists that load each other when one of them changes, as well as some textboxes. The two DDLs implied in this matter DO have AutoPostBack="true" and I have double-doublechecked that the names of the events in the Codebehind match the IDs and all the usual things. What I'm trying to do is enabling or disabling a button when there are valid values selected in those DDLs.
The problem is that, though in Chrome, Safari, Opera and Firefox the event is firing correctly, it is NOT firing in Internet Explorer 8 (no matter the compatibility version) ...
