How to run backend jobs while continue surfing the webform

Hi All,
I have got a situation where a user clicks on a button to view a report and some of the reports takes around 10mins to process and display.
So how can we run the report processing job at backend and let the user continue their surfing? And once the job is processed the user will be notified through email with a link to the report.
