Hi everyone,

I've used the sitemap menu control with .net and like it alot.  I like how it ties to memberships & roles and will hide or dispaly the nodes depending on whether they have security privledges.

1). So am I correct when I say that, if my site requires security with the .net Membership and Roles, then I must use the sitemap Control?  Otherwise, if my site doesn't need to distinguish between users, I can simply implement a broad based menu that is not dervied from the sitemap control?

2) Are there alternatives to a sitemap control that I can use but still leverage the power of membership & roles?

3) If my site does not require membership & roles, how can I implement my own tab menu instead of using the sitemap?  E.g. http://www.newegg.com/ (the My NewEgg, Video, Help tabs).  Is there something in VS 2008 that can help with the styling?
