A user has an option to select subscription type which is divided in two main categories: Basic package and Advance Package. Each package contains pricing structure like ( 3 months for 20 dollars . 6 months for 40 dollars and so on) . User who signs up for advance package has more access priveledge and features.
My question is should I create separate  roles called Basic package and Advance package and have a relationship table with user information that also contains  expiration date of their package? or I just avoid using membership roles and create totally seperate table called subscription type. The problem with that is I will have to hard code for access privileges within the same page.  Any suggestions with the design. Any similar examples I can look at ?

Thanks
