show alert box in the vb code

Hi to all. I want to show an alert box in my vb code here in ASP.NET that when I click on my submit button, if the required fields are empty, there is an alert box that will prompt the user to fill up all the fields. I must not use MsgBox here as I will get an error when I go online.. Thanks in advance..
