I was wondering if there was anyone out there who might know of, or have written a control which behaves like a FormView control except that it isn't tied to a datasource. My problem is I want to display Edit, Item, and Insert panels without having to bind a datasource to it. The reason is that the control doesn't actually bind to a datasource, I need to do some more complicated assigning of fields which can't be achieved just using datasources.
I thought I could use a MultiView, with 3 views which replicated the edit/insert operations, but the 1 big problem with that is that within each view, I have more or less the same controls. I would then have to rename all the controls so they don't clash. With a FormView, you don't get any name clashes within each template.
