Link Button access server side code

I have a text box and a link button and when i click the button it needs to run a server side function that will get some details form the database and redirect the page.

It is not working because there is another form on the page and it just keeps resubmitting the same page.

Is there some one to maybe use a hyperlink instead and have it run the server side code and redirect?
