I currently have a form that has a custom validator that checks the existance of a name before allowing the form to be submitted.. Doing this of course prevents you from submitting the form until you change that name..
Well the form has been updated and the requirement has been changed to just WARN / NOTIFY the user that the name already exists and that the record associated with it will be updated instead of inserting a new record.
We would like to do this without any popups alerts.. but open to suggestions.. when they click on submit, we need to still run the check of the name, if it already exists and is associated with the id they selected we need to let them know that it will be updated with the changes, what are my options to have this notification prior to actually submitting the form?
