Hi,

I have a website that uses ASP.Net and one MasterPage on most of my pages. I also have a login system based on synchronized Windows login hooked up to a database with user groups and such, and page access is controlled by PageId - UserGroup mapping maintained by a web admin.

When a user accessing a webpage, within the MasterPage.aspx.cs we do a check for group to page id mapping, and if it does not exist he gets redirected to an unauthorized.aspx. This all works fine and dandy but often when users revert to us, they do not tell us the original url used (because he has been redirected, they send us "i cannot access this page : unauthorized.aspx" instead of the original url)

So my question is, is there anyway we can prompt the user that the page they are trying to access is unauthorized WITHOUT doing a redirection, and do so purely from the MasterPage (so that i don't have to change every single webpage)?
