return id from database to page

 I am returning the id from the database when I save the data to the table. My issue seems to be when I try to pass the ID from the class to the code behind this number is a confirmation number, the number comes back blank on the code behind page however the ID does come back in the class... can someone show me what I might be missing ?
 
 here is the part of the code that returns the Id to my private variable in the class
class name AttendanceHotLine
     _confirmationNumber = db.ExecuteNonQuery("ATTD_SaveDetails", CommandType.StoredProcedure, Charter.ReportingBase.Database.DbConnectionState.CloseOnExit);
here is the getter/setter
