How do you create a custom web parts edit part? We have user control created, class inherited from UI.UserControl, which render successfully in the WebPartZone.
However we need to be able to provide a custom Edit property view so that we can populate dropdown controls etc, the default personalisation mechanisms are not strong enough as they dont allow for validation or customisation.
I think you used to be able to create a WebPrt custom control that inherited from UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPart whereby you could override the part creators but this seems to no longer be avaiable.
