I may not be able to describe this well, but I am going to give it a try.
I created a userControl which takes a datatable and some other parameters as inputs in order to create a listview of reports that have been run in the past.
The only option available in the control is a ‘Select’ button. There is no actual code to do something with the select in the user control as this may be used in various places and selecting would be for different purposes. When a user clicks 'select' I raise an event and pass to the parent of the control the key field for the report selected. (this works perfectly, completely happy with this)
The user control is put onto a page. Above the user control is a dropdown list of report TYPES.
