System.Diagnostics.EventLog.WriteEntry is not working

Hi all,


In My project I just added System.Diagnostics.EventLog.WriteEntry("This is a Match for stocks ");


But all the time I am gettingthe below error. I did n't create any source or anything. I just added the above statement to see what it is adding to the event log
  An object reference is required for the non-static field, method, or property 'System.Diagnostics.EventLog.WriteEntry(string)'



Please help me.
