Problem Accessing Webservices/Javascript

Intro: We're using  C#, .net 3.5, masterpages  and a cookieless session.
I cannot access the asp.net controls from javascript, cannot access the services refeenced in the scripts section of the ToolKitScriptManager and cannot access page methods.
Browing the site from mmc works fine (using cookies) but doesn't once cookieless is selected.
Any suggestions???
