I have had a little light bulb go off related to the difference between these two terms, but, I am still fuzzy on what exactly distinguishes one from the other. So far, I am gathering that declarative has to do more with using existing components and mechanisms while programmatic control has to do with writing the code yourself. That seems way too simplistic, but, it's a start. Also, I get the impression that declarative has to do with static code whereas programmatic permits both static or dynamic code handling. It seems that dynamically handled code would be the more effective and efficient way to program dynamically, yet, again, I'm still trying to make sense of what they are and what the lines between their implementations happen to be. Please, feel free to chime in with thoughts, opinions, corrections, clarifications.
