Image is not displaying in the tag

Hi
I am trying to assign the path (from db table) in the <img src />
But it isn't displaying the img even if the image is exist.

Page_Load

Dim src As String
Dim path As String = "<img src=""{0}"" height=128px width=111px />"
Dim id As String
id = Session("userid")

src = objDBImage.getImageSrc(id)  ' get the src from db table for e.g (D:\Images\picture.gif)

strImage = String.Format(path, src)   
lblDisplay.Text = strImage
End If

I have no idea why it is not working since it retrieves the correct src
