I feel so lost. I hope someone will help.
I developed a windows application years ago in VB 5/6 which used DAO. It attached price data to an access database that it created at runtime, storing the data and updating day to day with new price data.
Now I have visual studio 2008. Its so different. I can't even rebuild my same project now. So I want to learn new skills to re-develop that program. Should I go with ADO.NET or SQL Server? Or Something else? I want to use C#. What type of book should I start with? Which technology is going to be around a long time?
