I'm trying to use the cryptography application block in the MS enterprise library in ASP.NET.
When i generata new key and protect it using DPAPI in "Machine-Mode" protection, the encryption/decryption works fine. But since our app is installed in a shared environment, we would like to use "user-mode" for storing the key. If i generate a new key and protect it using DPAPI in user-mode i get the following error when encrypting the text
Key not valid for use in specified state.

Win XP, .net 3.5, enterprise library 4.1
