I have been struggeling with this issue since I started use asp.net some three years ago, but I haven't completely understood the right way to do this:
I have a gridview where every row has some drop down lists. I want to fill theese drop downs with some values (say "a","b" and "c"), and then depending on some value on that row, select a specific item on every drop down list.
When I have selected (for example "a" on the first rows first drop down list, "b" on the first rows second ddl, "c" on the second rows first ddl and "a" on the second rows second ddl) I want to put these values into a label on the page when I press a button.
I know that I have to put in the values and the selected values on every post back to be able to get the selected values into the label - but where should I put the values into the drop down lists? where should I get the selected ...
