Many tutorials are quick to explain how to use server controls, but often don't say WHY to use them. For example, what is the advantage of the image control vs. just using an html img tag?
I'm having the following issue with the image control:
I give it an id, and then reference the id in a style sheet...great, the styles shows up at design time. But...preview in browser, they're gone. Check the generated source, and the generated image id is changed from the image control id...ok, so I take the generated name and use that in the CSS...and it works, but now the styles don't show up at design time!
I'm assuming the generated id name is the same every time? (I hope!)
It all seems like too much trouble. What is the reason to use an image control when all I need is a basic image on my page?
Just wondering...
