is there a way to overwrite / control the serialization that happens between webmethod and browser ?

hi,
i would like to provide my own implementation of serialization of DateTime (for example, but i could also use it with other types as well). I would like asp.net ajax to use my serialization method every time it serializes any instance of DAteTime to the browser.

I was able to accomplish this in JSON.net by providing a custom serializer, which is passed into the serialize method as optional parameter array. I hope asp.net ajax supports similar ways of controlling this...  if not perhaps there is a unsupported way of doing this!
