I have a site working on my development machine, with membership login, some roles etc, eveything working. It uses a SQL2005Express database.
My problem: I cannot login to the site at my host
The database on my development machine is the aspnetdb.mdf that is set up in the App_Data folder with the usual tables, and I have added a few tables related to the site business to that database. The added tables are linked via the UserID field to the aspnet_users table.
I have ported my database to a SQL2005 database at my host, and published my website to the host. The database at the host resides in a different location than the App_Data folder, and I have set the connection string in my web.config file to point to the host database.
I know the connection is correct, because some of the public pages on the site successfully draw data from the database. And I have set up the membership provider in the web.config file to what is should be (I think). ...
