i am developing a VB.net 2.0 job portal. Sql 2005 is at the rear. It has some cascading DD lists and we have employed Ajax for populating the child controls. The AjaxControlToolKit cascading DDL with web services were avoided as our server(maximumasp) is havving some issue with web services.
The DDLs are bound to corresponding DataTable objects. each of these datatables is populated from a cache object. First, the data is loaded to cache at page load through an sql query, and then,all further data retrievals are made from this cache object.
The trouble i am facing now is that these DDLs are running extremely slow at the production server. the same code is performing very well at the development server, even when the database used is of remote server. I tried with uncompiled and compiled code locally and remotely in three different servers ! the results are always same
- any idea what is happening?
