Retrieve UserName from Authentication Cookie

Here is another stupid question.
Once the user has authenticated, I would like to base all of the information displayed to the user based on their username.  Isn't that saved in the cookie?
For instance, I would like to pull all of their client information using a GridView and have the parameter set to the appropriate authentication information (slap me if the username is not there - LOL).
