Role Class Methods not being detected

I'm trying to create roles for my web application using the Role class methods provided in ASP.net but when I attempt to use the class methods as such:


Roles.CreateRole(newRoleName);

they are not recognised and I get 'The name 'Roles' does not exist in the current context'. I can't for the life of me figure out why not, I guess its something to do with the web.config but as far as I can see I've enabled the role manager correctly. Could someone double check my web.config or any other ideas are, of course, welcome!
