In my web page I ask the user to enter their AD user id and password, and I am authenticating that against the ad. Everything is working well without any problems. What I want is when I query "User.Identity.Name" , I want to get the user that is logged in to the web application, not in the pc. Now what happens is no matter how I authenticate, when I query the above I get the user name that is logged onto the pc.
If this is confusing :
If I publish my web site and set the basic authentication in IIS directory security, it prompts me to enter the user id and password. When I enter a different user and password and query the User.Identity.Name, it shows me the one that I entered. I could be logged on to the pc as USER1 and entered USER2 when accessing the web site. When I check the user ID , what I get is USER2. I want to do the same with my logon controls. Is this possible?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
