I recently upgraded to VS 2008 / .NET 3.5.

I noticed that state in user controls changed vs. .NET 1.1/2.0.

In .NET 1.1/2.0 the following code if (!Page.IsPostBack) PageSetup();  placed in a User Control would fire each time since a user control always saw each postback as the first post. Also, the state of user controls was not retained between post backs.

Now with .NET  3.5 all the values I load on a user control retain between postbacks.

I have searched on-line to find the changes with .NET 3.0+ regarding maintain state in user controls and these changes but I cannot find a resource on this topic. If someone could point me to a resource that discusses the change in maintaining state in .NET 3.0+ I would apprecaite it.

Thanks,
Patrick
